Full Individual Membership
It is the primary responsibility of the EABP Membership Secretary to oversee the process of EABP membership applications.
If a National Association exists in your country (currently: Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands), you are recommended to apply via the National Association. You will then become a member of this association, which will transfer a percentage of your membership fee to EABP.
If there is no National Association in your country and/or you want to apply directly to EABP, the procedure is the following:
Download the application form ( right) or receive by post from the EABP Secretariat, Leidsestraat 106-108/2, 1017 PG Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Please send your application to the EABP Secretariat first, who will send one of your copies to the Membership Secretary (MS).
The current EABP Membership Secretary is Bjørn Ødegaard: email@example.com
You will get the receipt of your application confirmed by both, the EABP Secretary and the MS, and you will also be informed about the further procedure and the time frame for the decision process.
The MS checks whether the membership criteria have been fulfilled and whether your documentation is complete. In case of non-fulfilment of some criteria or lack of documentation the MS will contact you and make suggestions for completion.
In cases where there is a lack of clarity, that cannot be resolved the MS might contact the respective National Association, National Committee or National Representative and ask for their advice on the case.
Once the criteria are fulfilled and the documentation is complete the MS informs the Executive Board about the application with a clear recommendation.
The Executive Board decides whether to accept the application or not. Those cases where the Executive Board needs further discussion are brought to the next EABP Board meeting for them to make a decision about the application or to suggest further procedures.
If any member of the Executive Board is not able to decide within a time frame of two weeks (because of absence, technical problems etc.) the positive decision of two members of the Executive Board and the clear recommendation of the MS are seen as sufficient to accept the application.
Once an applicant is accepted he/she will be informed by the MS and will receive the membership documents and all written material from the EABP Secretariat.
The MS also informs an applicant in writing if there is a negative decision taken by the Executive Board and the reasons for this.
The applicant has the right to appeal against a negative decision to the full EABP Board. The Board’s decision is then final.
The EABP Secretariat takes care that the EABP Treasurer is informed about all new members.
